Former Yankee Tim Raines was given the reins to the Newark Bears today.  Newark signed Raines to a two year contract to be their manager.  The Bears are currently a part of the independant Atlantic League.

Raines played for the Yankees from 2006-2008 and won two World Series rings with the team.  I remember being at a game in 1997 when Raines had a walk-off hit to win the game.  Raines also won a World Series with the Chicago White Sox in 2005 as their first-base coach.
