Phil Hughes had another great start on Wed. night, pitching 5 shutout innings and leading the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall Leagueto a 13-6 win over the Phoenix Desert Dogs.  Hughes allowed only 2 singles, had 0 walks and a season-high 10 strikeouts.

Hughes did a great job proving to the Yankees brass that he deserves to be a part of the rotation next season.  In 7 outings for Peoria, Hughes was 2-0, had a 3.00 ERA, and in 30 innings pitched, allowed 10 ER on 21 hits.  He held opposing batters to a  .198 BA and had 38 K’s while only allowing 13 walks.
