Jerry Crasnick is reporting on ESPN.com that the Los Angeles Angels are no longer pursuing Mark Teixeira, leaving him for the Yankees, Red Sox, Nationals, and Orioles.
This is quite a development as I expected the Angels to fight hard for him.
Then again, as Brian Cashman always says, nothing is a set deal until the final signatures are collected. The Angels could be doing the same thing that John Henry did with the Red Sox, taking themselves out before agent Scott Boras makes this all ridiculously overpriced.
Your thoughts on this, folks?
