Carl Pavano signed a 1 year contract with the Cleveland Indians Tuesday, officially taking him off the market and I’m excited to see him go. The contract is for $1.5 Million, with incentives that could add an additional $5.3 Million based on starts and innings pitched.
Its also quite interesting that he will be headed to Cleveland. In one of those lovely ways that the world comes together to make things fun and interesting, Pavano could very well be the first pitcher the Yankees beat in the new stadium. The Yankees open the stadium with a three game series against the Indians – making it likely that Pavano could be a pitcher in that series. I’d love for him to be the first opposing pitcher and the first pitcher to lose a game.
