This doesn’t come as a surprise — but Andy Pettitte has rejected the Yankees’ 1 year, $10 million offer.

After the Yankees publicly supported Pettitte after his name was revealed in the Mitchell Report and after he had a very poor second half last year, he would not show the love.

After he publicly said on television that he would want to choose the Yankees and no amount of money would matter, he still did not show the love.

My initial reaction is to just dump him on the curb. Go with Phil Hughes or Al Aceves. Go after Ben Sheets or someone else. But Pettitte is honestly the best answer.

Try a $12 million contract. What is $2 million to the Yankees? Yeah, probably more $8 beers.
