It looks like it will be a while before the old Yankee Stadium actually comes crashing down. The City’s response?
“That’s going take at least two years because the city’s priority is the Yankees, not the neighborhood,” said Joyce Hogi, a member of the Community Board 4 parks committee.
The City cites two reasons — one that the Yankees have just started to move into the new Stadium and second that the Stadium is too close to public infrastructure (i.e. subways, Metro North, public buildings), that this will have to be a delicate process.
I don’t know how to react. Part of me is excited at the fact it’ll still be there to look at, and part if me is like hurry up, get moving will ya!
