Joba is rumored to be the fifth starter in the rotation this season.  This makes sense on two levels.  First, it separates the two left-handers in the rotation, CC Sabathia and Andy Pettitte.  Second, it allows the Yankees more flexibility in keeping Joba’s innings down and thus limiting his chance of injury.  By placing him in the last spot in the rotation, they can sub in Phil Hughes and others when necessary.
