You would think with his entourage of people that work at his beck and call, Alex Rodriguez would be trained what to say and what not to say. Apparently not.

A-Rod was caught speaking to Dominican reporters today about Jose Reyes of the New York Mets. Here’s what he said:

“I wish (Reyes) was leading off on our team, playing on our team.”

That’s an insult to Johnny Damon and Derek Jeter. You’d think that especially after their history, A-Rod would not say anything about Jeter again. Guess not.

I guess A-Rod needs to learn to stop putting his foot in his mouth — then again, maybe he should keep it there to shut up.
