Sorry for the lack of posts the last two days.  I was traveling to Maine for a weekend ski getaway on Friday, while Chris is (hopefully) coaching his academic bowl team to a victory this weekend in a regional championship tourney. Unfortunately, this will be the only post I will be able to make until Monday, and I doubt Chris will be able to post Sunday either.

Here’s what’s making news in the Yankee world as of Saturday night.

Spring Training Games 17 and 18: The Yankees picked up two wins today in split-squad games.  Both began near 1pm, with the Yankees facing the Houston Astros at home and the Pittsburgh Pirates away.  The Yanks picked up a 3-1 win against the Astros and a 13-10 win against the Pirates.  Check out the boxscores from MLB.com:    Yankees vs. Pirates Astros vs. Yankees.

Apparently while I was traveling yesterday, news came out that Robinson Cano and Damaso Marte have returned from the WBC somewhat injured.  Peter Abraham the best Yankees Beat Writer, has said both have shoulder soreness and will undergo MRI’s this weekend.  More news about this issue on Monday.  Joe Girardi is apparently ticked off about this.  I would be too.

Finally, some crazy woman has claimed that Bernie Williams hit her while she was taking a picture.  Her story: she was trying to take a picture, he tried to snatch the camera away and ended up hitting her.  Bernie, of course, denies any wrong doing.  Check out the YahooNews story.
