The Yankees were busy Saturday, moving three players to the Disabled List, while picking replacements for them in the 25-man roster. Brian Bruney, Chien-Ming Wang were placed on the 15-day disabled list, while Cody Ransom was placed on the 60-day DL.
David Robertson was recalled and Mark Melancon had his contract purchased to fill in the slots left behind by the pitchers. Angel Berroa was called up to replace Ransom on the roster and was given his first start Saturday against the Red Sox.
Bruney injured his right elbow somehow (can anyone shed light on this) and Wang is headed to the DL due to hip issues – which is just a way to get him off the rotation and away from allowing blowouts everytime he pitches.
