Its still early, but after two straight no-hit appearances in relief, pitcher Mark Melancon is a welcome addition to a struggling Yankee bullpen.

Since being called up to play the weekend series in Boston, Melancon as faced the powerful Boston lineup and a decent Detroit lineup, holding both hitless through three innings.  Melancon has allowed one walk and struck out two.

Considering the pitching issues of Damaso Marte, Jose Veras, Edwar Ramirez and Jonathan Albaladejo and the injury to Brian Bruney, Melancon might be the rock the Yankees need.
