Joba Chamberlain’s mother was arrested this past weekend for selling a gram of methamphetamine to an undercover officer in February. Jacqueline Standley was arrested on Saturday night at her apartment.
Lincoln Police Captain David Beggs said she sold a gram of meth for $110 on February 11 and that she was arrested after a state lab test subsequently confirmed it was meth.
Reporters apparently informed Joba of the arrest on Monday night after he arrived at Yankee Stadium. He told ESPN, “You only got one mom, man, and you’ve got to be thankful for her. I still love her.”
Joba went on to strikeout 12 on Tuesday night against the Red Sox, but took the loss because of 4 earned runs. He is now 1-1 on the season.
