Photo from Save Gate 2
I saw this post on RiverAveBlues.com and thought it’s worth sharing with our readers.
Ben Kabak first reported about this story about a grassroots campaign that is trying to save a portion of the old Yankee Stadium by leaving Gate 2 standing at the new Heritage Park. As seen in the photo above, the entire wall along with some of the old ticket booths will be left standing, which is a similar project to what is already present in Pittsburgh with the Forbes Field and in Detroit with the old Tigers Stadium.
The website of the new grassroots campaign provides basic information, including recent developments. Kabak reports in his blog post that one of the founders of the group has already met with the Planning Commission. They are open to the idea, but it’s a long uphill battle.
Pass this on to your fellow Yankee fans and make them aware of this cause!
