The NY Yankees head to Baltimore for the second time this season for a three game set against the Orioles.  Since Baltimore won the opening series against the Yankees they have gone 10-16 for an overal record of 12-17 and are sitting at the bottom of the AL East Division.  The Yankees are not far behind.  Since losing that series to Baltimore, the Yankees are 12-13, for an overal 13-15 record.

Neither team has had trouble scoring runs this season.  The problem is they make up two of the three teams who have allowed more then 175 runs.

This series will come down to who can either 1.) out hit the other team, winning games by scores of 12-10 and possibly scores like 16-8.  Or 2.) whose pitching will finally step up.

CC Sabathia, Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain get starts for the Yankees.  Sabathia is pitching well below his potential this season and the Opening Day game at Baltimore was probably his worst outing this season.

Hughes pitched a solid two-hit shutout against Detroit for his first start of the season after replacing the injured Chien-Ming Wang in the rotation.  His second start against the Red Sox was not solid. He looks to bounce back Saturday against Baltimore.

Joba struck out 12 against the Red Sox on Tuesday night, including retiring 8 batters in a row with strikeouts.  He still somehow managed to lose the game.  He also looks to bounce back.
