Peter Abraham reported Monday that Xavier Nady and Jose Molina both faced setbacks in their injury recoveries on the same day.

Jose Molina was playing in an extended spring training game and re-injured his strained left quadriceps.  The Yankees had hoped to get Molina back by the weekend, but it doesn’t look good after this.  No word yet on how long this setback might keep Molina out of the lineup, but he is scheduled to have an MRI in Tampa soon.

Fortunately, its not a big deal with Francisco Cervelli playing well as Jorge Posada’s backup.

Xavier Nady also faced a set back Monday.  He was in the midst of his first day of a throwing program and felt enough discomfort to stop throwing.  The coaches don’t seem too sure what to do with it.  As of now, it is expected that Nady will try throwing again Tuesday and see how it feels.

We’ll update both stories at some point Tuesday.
