The possible replacement for Jorge Posada in a couple of years, jesus Montero was promoted from the teams Class-A affiliate in Tampa to their Double-A team in Trenton, NJ.

The 20 year-old Montero will be the starting catcher for the Trenton Thunder, taking the place of Francisco Cervelli, who was promoted to the big leagues last month when the Yankees lost both Jorge Posada and Jose Molina to injuries in what felt like the same day.

Montero had a big-time start to the season, hitting .356 with a .406 OBP and a .989 slugging %.  He had 8 homers and 37 RBI over 48 games.
