After the Yankees let A-Rod play every single game since May 8, they let him miss two games this past weekend to give him some rest. They need to do this more and this will happen with the plan that the Yankees developed with A-Rod’s physician in Colorado.
Today, Bryan Hoch reports that the Yanks will rest A-Rod one day a week through the All Star Break. After the July vacation, the team and Dr. Marc Philippon, A-Rod’s surgeon, will assess this situation.
I think this is a wise move on everyone’s part. A-Rod is still not 100% and he was pushed into this too quickly. He has breathed some life into the team, but his personal stats are suffering.
Let’s see how much this helps A-Rod over the next few weeks.
