When the Yankee players arrived for their game against Oakland Thursday afternoon, they found a gift waiting for them in their locker.  Yankees closer Mariano Rivera had gifted each teammate with a used game ball from the June 28th game against the Mets when Mo picked up his 500th career save.

Mo had signed each ball and written 500th save 6/28/09.  The ball was encased in a glass and cherry wood display case.

In a testament to his great personality, Mo also gave a ball to all coaches, trainers, staff  members and security people as well.

Hat tip to Pete Abraham.
