The Yankees announced Tuesday that they have traded for Texas Rangers minor league outfielder Greg Golson, who batted .258 and 40 RBI in 123 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City.  Despite his low offensive numbers, Golson is considered to be a great athlete with speed and a great outfield arm.

Although it is unclear at this time what the Yankees’ plans for Golson are, but he was added to the team’s 40-man roster on Tuesday.  I would assume he will be given a chance to play for the big league team to add speed and defense off the bench.
