With the recent announcement of an agreement between the Yankees and Andy Pettitte, the starting rotation appears to be set.  Thus, here is my projection of the Yankees starting rotation:

1.)  CC Sabathia (Throws: Left)

2.) Chien-Ming Wang (Right)

3.) AJ Burnett (Right)

4.) Andy Pettitte (Left)

5.) Joba Chamberlain (Right)

I see Pettitte going into the fourth spot, not the fifth.  That way, the two leftys don’t pitch on consecutive days.

Obviously, this is the undisputed best rotation in the big leagues.   On paper.  We’ll see how the season goes…

Emergency Starters:

1.) Phil Hughes (Right) – could be in bullpen, could be assigned to AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

2.) Ian Kennedy (Right) – probably going to start season in AAA.

3.) Kei Igawa (Left) – maybe this year will be the year he proves he was worth the big money
